Pull out or push in? Should just the gifted kids get to go to a special class or school for enrichment or are all kids gifted in some way? Would all kids benefit from a class or a school day spent exploring and learning in a hands on environment? Should the lower academic ability kids get to go to enrichment classes too? These are just some of the questions addressed by Dr. Mandi Sonnenberg Professor and Educational Technologist at Rockhurst University, Kansas City, MO.
I’m not sure of the answers to most of these questions. But, I do know that all children are gifted in some way and that all children benefit from hands on exploration. How to educate all children effectively and in a differentiated way so that they all feel gifted is a hard task for teachers and definitely something to think about.
